Prevent Air From Getting in Chest Around a Foreign Object
This tip is good for the circumstances where the casualty has been impaled with something or a medic has intentionally placed a chest tube.
Step 1: Use trauma shears to cut the Halo™ at the mid point. Only cut halfway through the seal so that it is still attached on one end.
Step 2: Seal around the object, using the cut area to navigate around the protrusion.
Step 3: Use a second chest seal prepared in the same way to surround the object from the opposite direction.
