The Furman University Police Department has taken the next steps to prepare the Furman University campus for an emergency situation. Tramedic® Trauma Kits have been installed in various locations including the auditorium, library, and dining hall.
The Police Lt., who worked as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and at a Level 1 trauma center before becoming a police officer, is providing training to key employees at each location of the kits.
"Staying at the forefront of crisis management means recognizing the value of being able to provide rapid medical care in an emergency." He will also be offering Stop the Bleed training on campus for additional staff and students. One student said, "I think it's good to have them around campus.. I think it's more important than ever right now."
