Trauma Simulators: What is the Right Manikin Fidelity for Us?

Trauma Simulators: What is the Right Manikin Fidelity for Us?

Register here for the Moderate and High-Fidelity Trauma Simulators Webinar on October 11, 11am PDT (2pm EST)

Unintentional and violence-related injuries, including suicide, homicide, overdoses, motor vehicle crashes, and falls, were among the top 10 causes of death for all age groups in the United States and caused nearly 27 million nonfatal emergency department (ED) visits in 2019. Everyone needs to know how to manage trauma. Until recently, trauma patient simulators have ranged from low-cost unrealistic dummies to high fidelity simulators, designed for hospital use, poorly repurposed to teach trauma. Additionally, the need for quality trauma simulation has expanded from the trauma bay and EMS system to law enforcement and lay person training.

Hosted by TacMed's Dr. Dan Irizarry, MD and Lt. Dan Stout, this presentation will compare and contrast TacMed Solutions Clinical Response Whole Body System and Whole Body EMITT Tactical Medical Active Shooter simulators. TMS instructors will be joined by current users to discuss how they are utilizing these capabilities to support law enforcement and other training needs. Special attention will be paid to the TMS rental program, making realistic trauma simulation available to a broad range of customers at affordable prices. Discussion will include mechanisms to fund capital investments in trauma simulation.
