DLA Awards New ECAT Contract to TraumaFX

dla awards traumafx ecat contract

TraumaFX, a division of Kforce Government Solutions, Inc. (KGS) and a leading global provider of advanced, ruggedized human and canine medical training simulators, today announced the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded the company a new Electronic Catalog (ECAT) contract for TraumaFX medical simulation equipment. The five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for hospital equipment and accessories has a period of performance from Sep 17, 2018 through Sep 16, 2023.

ECAT is similar to ordering though any common online retailer. The government end-user can simply search the electronic catalog, place the items they need in a cart, apply their account information and shipping details, then click send.  This saves substantial time for procurement offices and puts the ability to place orders in the hands of equipment supply.

“We are extremely happy to continue supporting expedited order processing through DLA ECAT,” said Carolyn Hollander, Vice President of TraumaFX at KGS. “As a procurement vehicle, ECAT has proven to be an incredibly useful, time saving acquisition channel to get much needed technology deployed to the DoD organizations that need it.”

TraumaFX commercially-available medical training devices have been fielded globally with more than 2,500 in use since launch in 2010.  TraumaFX is dedicated to improving survivability, which it accomplishes by delivering immersive training experiences with increased realism using movie-ready special effects. The combination of incredibly high fidelity, anatomical accuracy, and rugged durability is what makes the systems sought after.

This is a single-award contract from DLA exclusive to KGS’ TraumaFX medical simulation equipment. It is a follow-on contract to the 2013-2018 five-year award which maxed out the contract’s value. The new contract provides a larger ceiling to accommodate demonstrated demand for the company’s rugged trauma patient manikins and canine medical simulation training technology.

TraumaFX products are now sold under the TacMed Simulation brand. It joins TacMed Medical and TacMed Protection as a suite of complimentary products for the continuum of pre-hospital patient care.
