TraumaFX Solutions, Inc., a leading global provider of advanced, ruggedized human and canine medical training simulators, today announced the company has been awarded the Traumatic Amputation Task Trainer II contract by ACC Orlando on behalf of PEO STRI Joint Program Management Office-Medical Modeling & Simulation.

TATT II is a five-year, single-award contract exclusive to TraumaFX. Products available on the contract span the company’s portfolio of human and canine medical training simulators and a wide range of accessories and services.

As explained in the solicitation, the TATT was originally developed under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program for the US Army (ARL-STTC). Under phase I and II the TATT evolved into ruggedized high-fidelity simulators with advanced animatronics operated via remote control. The TATT is currently fielded to 21 Medical Simulation Training Centers (MSTCs) in support of medical training and education on battlefield procedures and equipment. They afford both soldier medics and non-medical soldiers the ability to receive comprehensive training in several formats such as didactic training in a classroom setting, practical hands-on training using task trainers, and skills validation training in a simulated battlefield environment.

Awarded immediately following the IDIQ was the first Delivery Order on the contract which is Phase 2 of the Tactical Combat Casualty Care Exportable (TC3X) program. The order includes 46 human patient simulators which will be deployed to 14 different CONUS and OCONUS locations over the coming months.

“After the success of the first TATT contract, we are very excited to continue our work on this important contract vehicle,” said Carolyn Hollander, Vice President at TraumaFX. “And we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with PEO STRI and supporting their customers to extend high-fidelity medical simulation training to more soldiers through the TC3X program of record.”

TraumaFX products are now sold under the TacMed Simulation brand. It joins TacMed Medical and TacMed Protection as a suite of complimentary products for the continuum of pre-hospital patient care.
